In 1998, 1999 and 2002 Johns won the best and fairest, the second player ever to win three Dally M Medals.

2000: Trent Barrett -

While playing for St George Illawarra Dragons, Barrett won the Dally M Medal in 2000.

2001: Preston Campbell - In 2001, Campbell won the Dally M Medal with Cronulla Sharks, he then transferred over to Penrith Panthers in 2003, and won the premiership.

2004: Danny Buderus - Buderus was playing for Newcastle Knights when he won his Dally M Medal after winning the 2001 premiership.

2005: Johnathan Thurston - Thurston was the first player ever to receive four Dally M Medals (2005, 2007, 2014 & 2015), as well as three Golden Boot Awards, which are given to the World's best league players.
