Least trusted: North Korea - Aussies have the coldest feelings towards North Korea compared to 17 other countries and have the least amount of trust in North Korea to act responsibly.

16. Saudi Arabia - Aussies said they felt particularly cold towards the desert kingdom getting a 40 degrees out of a possible 100. In comparison, North Korea got 25 degrees from Australians.

15. Russia - On the colder side of tepid, Aussies said they felt 47 degrees towards Russia. Putin's Russia was also rated the second-least trusted by Aussies to act responsibly on the world stage.

14. Myanmar - The Rohingya crisis has cooled Aussies' feelings towards Myanmar to a tepid 50 degrees. For this study, 50 degrees means neither good nor bad.

11. China (Tied) - The country often accused of foreign interference or over investment in Australia scored fairly well, all things considered, at 58 degrees. Aussies were almost evenly split on whether they thought China would act responsibly on the world stage.

10. Taiwan - The democratic, autonomous nation technically controlled by China scored slightly warmer, at 60 degrees.

9. Philippines - The Philippines got a room temperature 61 degrees from Aussies.

8. Papua New Guinea - Papua New Guinea similarly got a slightly positive but overly great 63 degrees.

7. U.S. - While the U.S. received a warm reception from Aussies, 67 degrees, it wasn't a strong endorsement. Only 55% of Aussies thought the U.S. would act responsibly on the world stage, ranking them slightly above China and below India in that regard.

6. France - Despite being a main E.U. member, France itself garnered a warmer reception than the trading block from Aussies at 70 degrees. A plurality of Aussies, 84%, said they expected France would act responsibly on the world stage.

5. Germany - Germany, also a main E.U. member, fared better than the trading block in the eyes of Aussies at 71 degrees.

4. Japan - Japan got far and away the warmest reception from Aussies, at 74 degrees. Japan was also the second-most trusted to act responsibly on the world stage according to Aussies, of whom 87% trusted the country.

3. UK - Most trusted world leader - Britain, unfazed by Brexit in the eyes of Aussies, was very warmly received by Aussies at 82 degrees. They were also the most trusted to act responsibly on the world stage, with 90% of Australians trusting the UK.

2. Canada - Canada was quite warmly received by their Commonwealth brethren, getting an 84-degree reception.
