There's no denying that the "Queen of Latin Pop" is on fire right now.
On January 28 the singer won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, and in 2017 she was ranked by Fortune as number 27 on the list of the world's greatest leaders.
In 2016 she blew up the charts with the track 'Chantaje,' bringing in over two million views on Youtube. Now, at long last, Shakira and the popular reggaeton artist Maluma are back together again!
The duo's new song 'Trap' is already in the top 30 trending videos on Youtube. The song essentially merges everything you love about reggaeton with a bumping trap beat in the background, and the results were stunning.
Shakira posted an interview about the entrancing music video on her Instagram. She stated, "we were all sort of submerged under water in this complete trance." Shakira went on to say that the entire studio seemed to be in a trance-like state during filming.
Maluma shared his delight about making this genre-mixing collaboration, stating that, "It enveloped us." He continued, "I'm still in disbelief because I love this genre and for what's about to happen with this song."
Who knows, maybe 'Trap' is the 'Despacito' of 2018.
