Enigmatic and somewhat retired Aussie actor Paul Hogan is dusting off his acting boots and getting back into the movie business. The 'Crocodile Dundee' funnyman is set to star in a movie called  'The Very Excellent Mr Dundee' in which he plays himself, as reported by Variety

The film revolves around Paul Hogan on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. All he has to do is keep out of trouble in the lead up to the big event. Which of course he can't, the next six weeks see his reputation besmirched in various high jinks and calamities.

There have been no further details revealed in terms of co-stars, however, it is to be directed by Dean Murphy of 'Charlie & Boots' and 'Strange Bedfellows' fame.

“Watch this space as I’ve been honored to have many of my friends and colleagues, whose work I adore, agree to join us for this hilarious new adventure,” said Hogan in a statement.

Paul Hogan has been relatively quiet of late, other than turning up in the recent Tourism Australia spoof film trailer which also starred a whole host of Aussie stars including Chris Hemsworth, Ruby Rose, Margot Robbie and many many others. The star-studded trailer featured U.S. comedian Danny McBride as Mick Dundee’s American son Brian and Chris Hemsworth as his Australian guide.

Welcome back Paul Hogan, "where the bloody hell are ya?"
