French Quarter - To ward off the devil baby, the townspeople would carve gourds to represent the head of the devil baby and hang them over their doors. Some still believe the ghost of the devil baby still haunts the streets of the French Quarter.
Kill - The family in question gave the Elmo to their toddler aged two, and after they inserted the batteries it began saying "Kill James!" is in a sing-song voice. The family received a voucher from Fisher-Price for a replacement.
In 2007, a Pulau Ubin man was visited by the girl in his dreams three nights in a row, where she led him to a toy store and chose a doll she wanted. The next day he did just that and placed the Barbie at the shrine.
Transfer - Okiku died of a cold as a young girl, and it is believed that her spirit transferred into the doll because after death the doll's hair began to grow, and continues to grow to this day, according to legend.
The boy's parents reported hearing the boy talking to the doll, assuming the voice talking back was their son's voice altered, but over time believing it actually was the doll. Apparently, Robert also destroyed all of the boy's other toys.
