Wild Australian horses are endangering over 20 plant species and seven animal species in the Alpine region, according to an independent committee. 

But despite their sometimes destructive nature, the NSW government is banning all brumby culls, making the horses a "heritage value" animal. 

Conservationists and opposition parties believe the NSW government will end up harming Kosciuszko National Park more than helping it.
