The airport is not many people's favorite place. When the lines stretch for a mile, your flight is delayed, and everyone you encounter is perpetually grumpy, it's easy to get frustrated.

Good news! Google Flights is about to make life a whole lot easier for travelers.

For those who don't already know, Google Flights is a popular flight search engine among travel bloggers. The site compares the prices of nearly all flight companies to come up with the cheapest and most convenient options. This may sound similar to Momondo and Skyscanner, but two new features on the system are now setting it apart.

Google Flights now tells you what amenities you may miss out on by sitting in coach, such as seat selection, overhead bin access, and options to modify your ticket. It also helps warn users about unexpected fees, so you're not slapped with a $50 bag fee later on.

The service also has improved technology to check flight cancellations. According to Gizmondo, Google Flights now uses historical data and weather forecasts to predict delays ahead of time. It will also explain the reason for the flight delay in an alert sent to flyers. However, this information will only be shared if there is an 80% chance for a delay.

Hopefully these changes will help to explain and alleviate some unnecessary airport stress.
