Sweet tooth - Previously Doughnut Time seemed to be expanding fast to comply to our sweet tooth demands. But after running into some trouble, the owners sent the business into voluntary administration.

Communication - Apparently this was not communicated to employees until the very last minute. They were given notice in an email sent by middle management, according to ABC News.

Compensation -

Employees were left with $200,000 unpaid wages. The Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) was an option employees could take for having lost their job as a result of their employer's liquidation or bankruptcy.

Outstanding -

They could claim up to 13 weeks of unpaid wages, plus the outstanding value of their annual leave and long service leave. However this only applied to Australian citizens and permanent residents.

Comments - In the comments they continued, "As the new owners, we think what happened to past employees is unacceptable. We encourage any previous workers who have not yet done so to reclaim unpaid wages by contacting the Department of Jobs and Small Business."

Missed - "We believe many Australians missed Doughnut Time and when we saw it was up for sale, we jumped at the opportunity to bring it back." It said.
