Another year, another Grammys. And you know what that means—shocks, surprises, and controversy. 2019 was no different, with wildcard wins and some snubs too. However, the show also made headlines with regards to its "In Memoriam" segment. The televised piece honors the musical figures who passed away the year prior. This year's segment paid tribute to late names like Avicii, Mac Miller, and Aretha Franklin. However, there were also some notable omissions. Platinum-selling rapper XXXTentacion, who was fatally shot last year, was omitted from the segment—and it isn't the first time this has happened. The Grammys often omit names from the broadcast, instead opting to list the fallen on their official website.
