Kravitz's daughter, 30-year-old Zoë, reunited with the famed actress after having first met around 2002, when Kravitz and Kidman were together. Zoë would have been a teenager.
While the thought might be cringeworthy to many other people, Kravitz opened up about the whole situation on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' and defied all our hopes for Hollywood awkwardness.
After one caller bravely asked his feelings on the situation, as well as why the relationship with Kidman didn't work out, Kravitz said, "I thought it was very interesting that they ended up on the same show, and Zoë hadn’t seen Nicole since she was younger, so it was beautiful that they got to know each other as adults and make this great show together."
He then paused on a long "Ummm," and said, "that's about it," craftily avoiding the second part of the question.
Perhaps feeling that the audience wanted more, and after Cohen's appraisal of the question, Kravitz added, "Some things just don’t work, but the wonderful thing is that we’re all friends."
In the past, Kidman has said that the reason they broke up was that they weren't ready to be married, but that she wasn't interesting in dating, only in deep and near-instant connections. She's also laughed when reporters ask her what it was like to meet and work with Zoë on the set of 'Big Little Lies,' since she'd already known her for years.
