Back in the 1980s, Billy Joel was one of the most sought-after bachelors on the market. The rumour mill was constantly churning with stories about Joel and various supermodels. While not all may have been true, one, in particular, has just been verified by Elle Macpherson herself.

As a guest on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' Macpherson was asked about what happened in the love triangle between her, Christie Brinkley, and Billy Joel. "We were living together. I had the upstairs… in Central Park West,” Macpherson recalled about her relationship with Joel. "We were friendly, and I think he was dating Christie at the time, just starting to. So yeah, I got ousted.”

Macpherson was also asked about the motivation behind Joel's hit song 'Uptown Girl.' The Australian model said “I think it was all the uptown girls, put it that way. I don’t need to take ownership over that. He liked tall girls.” 

Joel and Brinkley went on to get married and have a daughter together. Though, the couple divorced in 1994.
