Joaquin Phoenix terrorizes NYC subway as the 'Joker'

It is time to return to Gotham City, and Joaquin Phoenix is the terrifying welcoming committee. The star is filming for his upcoming role in the 'Batman' spin-off film titled 'Joker.'
The public scene took place in a New York City underground subway station. Phoenix, in full clown face makeup and suit, storms off of the subway car leaving a trail of chaos and terrified civilians. Judging from this behind-the-scenes look, 'Joker' is going to be just as thrilling and dark as audiences are hoping for.

The film will follow the haunting character through his journey to becoming a villain. Beginning as a failed stand up comic in the 1980s, Arthur Fleck turns to a life of "crime and chaos." Produced by iconic filmmaker Martin Scorsese, and co-starring Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy and Marc Maron, 'Joker' is set to release in October 2019.
