Actress Fan Bingbing, known for her role in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' has disappeared. As China's highest-paid actress, Bingbing's absence from social media, the press, and public appearances is worrying fans.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the star hasn't been seen in public since July 1 and hasn't posted any updates to social media since July 23.
Bingbing has a forthcoming film called '335' where she appears alongside Lupita Nyong'o, Jessica Chastain, and Penelope Cruz, thus making many wonder what this mysterious disappearance could be about, especially, around a time where she will be publicly promoting her new film.
The actor had a scandal in China earlier this year when a leak suggested that Bingbing "had misled the government about her income to avoid the country’s heavy taxes on highly paid actors," this highly-publicized leak lead to the government enforcing a "crackdown on celebrity pay in China." So conspiracy theories have alleged that this could be the reason for her departure from the spotlight. Wild theories are being thrown around that the Chinese government may have her in incarceration.
Fan Bingbing's representatives have yet to comment on her disappearance.
