After an entire year of silence, Casey Affleck has finally spoken about his sexual misconduct allegations and the overwhelming backlash he received from the Time's Up and #MeToo movements.

Speaking with the Associated Press, Affleck addressed the sexual misconduct allegations that two female actors on the set of 'I'm Still Here' claimed took place. The actor and director apologized for the way he handled the project, saying, "I contributed to that unprofessional environment and I tolerated that kind of behavior from other people and I wish that I hadn’t," he explained. "I really did not know what I was responsible for as the boss... And I'm sorry."

When asked about his role in the Time's Up initiative and the #MeToo movement, Affleck explained that he now understands it is time for him to listen. “I know just enough to know that in general I need to keep my mouth shut and listen and try to figure out what’s going on and be a supporter and a follower in the little, teeny tiny ways that I can,” he said.

Affleck's new film, 'The Old Man & The Gun' is set to release this fall. In the wake of his AP interview, audiences are questioning whether his long-awaited apology is worthy of acceptance, or too little too late.
