Invasion - Radio presenter Chrissie Swan won the battle with gossip magazine Woman’s Day after it invaded the privacy of her children by publishing photos of them.

Family time - The mother of three was spending family time with her children at McDonald's when a hidden paparazzi snapped shots of them.

Star spotter - It was published in Woman's Day alongside words "STAR SPOTTER: Your favourite stars … caught on camera" according to news.com.au.

McDonald's - Photographs were taken of her and her children while at the drive-thru of the local fast food chain, showing them in an "unflattering light", she told APC.

Not about her - Swan contacted the APC to complain about this, saying it is not about her coverage, but that "the effect of the picture was to expose the children to ridicule."

Big Brother - Swan first came into the public eye in 'Big Brother Australia' 2003, coming runners-up to winner Regina Bird.

Gold Logie - Since then she has become a radio and TV host winning a Gold Logie for Most Popular New Female Talent on 'The Circle' in 2011.

Media personality - Being a media personality means Swan is considered of public interest, thus reducing her privacy somewhat.

Not for her children - However, this invasion should not extend to her children. ABC's Media Watch commented, “While radio stars might be fair game, their kids are definitely not.”

Negative - Since receiving negative comments about her son's weight in an Australian Women's Weekly photoshoot five year's prior, she deliberately took all of her children out of the public eye.

Unsafe - She told APC, "The photograph had been taken without her knowledge or approval, and the article caused considerable distress to her family, made the children feel unsafe, and exposed them to threats and abuse, especially cyberbullying.”

Criticised - Woman's Day was criticised alongside The Daily Mail who published a similar story with the children's full names and ages.

The Australian Press Council - The Australian Press Council agreed that the publication breached General Principle 5 and 6, and that Swan's complaint was justified.

Public eye - Although Swan has mentioned her children in radio, TV and magazine interviews, as well as her memoirs, she said they had not been placed in the public eye for the past five years.

Conclusion - APC came to the conclusion that the "publication was not in the public interest so as to justify the level of intrusion ... [and] the publication failed to take reasonable steps to avoid causing substantial offence, distress or prejudice."

Supreme Court - Swan brought this to APC as a complaint, however, the cases of Rebel Wilson and Geoffrey Rush have had to be taken to court.

Defamation - Writer, actress and producer, Rebel Wilson recently took on the same publication, Woman's Day Magazine, in a defamation case that went to the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Serial liar - The publication portrayed Wilson as "a serial liar who had told lies about her real name, age, aspects of her upbringing and events in her life", according to the Supreme Court of Victoria.

'Pitch Perfect 2' - The articles were published at a time that coincided with the release of 'Pitch Perfect 2', in which Wilson played a lead role, causing potential damage to her chances of future Hollywood roles.

Biggest - Wilson won the biggest ever defamation case in Australian history, with a whopping $4.5 million in damages from the media outlet, Bauer.

Appeal - Bauer Media has since appealed Supreme Court judge Justice John Dixon's ruling in the Melbourne’s Court of Appeal, with ongoing hearings.

September - In September Geoffrey Rush will be going to trial against Nationwide News for defamation in their publication, The Daily Telegraph.

Geoffrey Rush - According to ABC, an affidavit provided with the lawsuit mentioned the two-time Golden Globe winner suffered "tremendous emotional and social hardship" from sexual assault accusations.

Cordelia - The Daily Telegraph alleges that the actor playing Rush's daughter Cordelia in 'King Lear', Eryn Jean Norvill, complained to the Sydney Theatre Company about inappropriate behaviour.

Complaint - According to ABC, the complaint stated: "the actor touched her genitals during the production of King Lear without her consent".

#MeToo - "The applicant has found that as a direct result of the publications he has been constantly associated in Australia and internationally with the #MeToo movement," the affidavit read.

Denied - Rush denies the accusations and is seeking damages at the upcoming trial, claiming the article portrayed him as a "pervert" and a "sexual predator", according to ABC.
