Frontman of the Foo Fighters, and former member of Nirvana, Dave Grohl made music history at Los Angeles’ Voodoo Threauxdown Festival by performing 'In Bloom' live. Since the tragic passing of iconic Nirvana musician, Kurt Cobain, Grohl has rarely played his former bands hits.

Taking the stage with Trombone Shorty, Grohl took the drums to grace the Los Angeles audience with 'In Bloom' for just the second time since Cobain's passing.

“For years I couldn’t even listen to any music, let alone a Nirvana song,” Grohl has previously said about his grief, according to NME. “When Kurt died, every time the radio came on, it broke my heart. I don’t put Nirvana records on, no. Although they are always on somewhere. I get in the car, they’re on. I go into a shop, they’re on. For me, it’s so personal," he said.

Grohl continued to explain that, “I remember everything about those records; I remember the shorts I was wearing when we recorded them or that it snowed that day. Still, I go back and find new meanings to Kurt’s lyrics.”
