When the Australian Classification Board is reviewing a movie, public exhibitions or video games to go on sale in Australia, it can Refuse Classification, banning the given media.
Until 2013, Australia banned any video game that wasn't suitable for 15-year-olds because there wasn't a rating for games adult-only games.
That meant Mortal Kombat, South Park and some of the highest grossing games of all time were banned in Australia.
