Dog: 27 - Dogs were far more deadly than kangaroos, as well as any of the deadly animals that had an entire movie about how dangerous they were.

Bites, fallen over - Most deaths were related to bites, that is 14. Nine deaths were caused by "fallen over", presumably onto small children or the elderly, three were in a motor vehicle accident and one was listed as "other".

Cow, bull, bovine: 33 - No one's about to make a movie about a killer cow in Australia but it makes more sense to fear them than a shark or a crocodile.

Specific penetrating force - Car accidents accounted for 16 bovine-caused deaths, crushing was the cause of nine, specified piercing or penetrating force (probably with horns) was the cause for five and "other" was the listed reason for three deaths.

Horse, pony, donkey: 77 - Horses, ponies, and donkeys are by far the most deadly animals in Australia, killing about as many as cows, bulls, dogs and kangaroos combined within a decade.

Falls - Falls were the cause 46 deaths attributed to a horse, which is probably more of a human error than a vicious attack, crushing was the cause of 14, trampling was the cause of seven deaths, car accidents the reason for six and "other" was listed for four fatalities.

Fewest deaths in ACT: 2 - As the smallest of the states and territories, it's little surprise that ACT had the fewest deaths from animal attacks, totaling in two.

Least likely place: Commercial area - The least likely place to get killed by an animal is in a commercial area, like a mall. There were less than five animal-caused deaths in commercial areas.

Mine and Quarry: <5 - While mines and quarries can be dangerous, they're not hot spots for getting killed by an animal. Less than five animal-caused deaths occurred in a mine or a quarry.
