The news of famed singer and actress Demi Lovato's drug overdose was a shock to both the public and her loved ones. In July, Lovato was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after life-threatening complications with Fentanyl.

A week later, Lovato took to Instagram to share a loving message with her fans. The star wrote, "I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time."

Months after posting this message, however, Lovato decided to remove it from her Instagram page. A source close to the star told Hollywood Life that deleting the post was a way of having a "fresh start."

“Demi is happy and trying to move on from her horrible tragedy,” the source said. “So she deleted the ugly reminder from her social media. She is really ready to turn the page on that chapter and move on with a fresh start. She could no longer tolerate looking at the tough message that brought her back to the most challenging time in her life. Looking at that photo was a constant reminder to her of the dark place she was in at the time.”

Lovato appears to be back to social media. The star posted a photo of her voting in the US midterm elections, and urged her fans to do the same.
