Joe Jackson, father of Michael and Janet Jackson, has died at 89 years old, according to reports from TMZ. After a long battle with terminal cancer, Jackson has passed away in Los Angeles surrounded by some of his children, grandchildren, and wife, Katherine.
Dubbed one of the most successful managing parents in entertainment history, Joe Jackson was the patriarch of the iconic Jackson 5 singing group, as well as the manager for both Michael and Janet throughout their solo careers. Joe Jackson had 11 children with his wife, Katherine, who he'd been married to for over 60 years.
On June 24, Jackson took to Twitter to share a photo of himself at the beach with the caption, "I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes."

Dealing with a multitude of health problems, Joe Jackson had been hospitalized several times in recent years. In 2015, he suffered from a stroke and three heart attacks and was forced to use a pace maker, according to TMZ.
